Ok so. How long does everything take...( figuratively) For example, basic is 10 weeks then what happens next? What I am basically asking is how long should I expect to be away from home? do you get to go home between training etc. and at what point do you get "posted". I am trying to decide if reserves or reg will be a better choice for my family.

I applied med tech but am looking at other trades.

I started in September 2020 still no call yet even I am on the CL.

Figuratively a long time is a good guess.

yes, but I am more asking how long each section of training takes. So if BMQ takes 10 weeks and then you have to wait for your next "training" do you get to go home or do you have to wait wherever you take tour BMQ etc.

It depends on your specific trade. You will likely being posted somewhere near your original residence doing On-the-job training (OJT), while waiting for your next phase training.
