I was just wondering, do canadians see combat in the infantry? Or do canadian soldiers just get sent on mission where they are not needed and just feed the poor? (i'm not saying poor people don't need food!)

Yes they do. Have a look at this post:
Need name of battle

I would also suggest you look into the activities of Canadian soldiers on other peacekeeping/enforcing Ops. You will find that our soldiers have done much more than just hand out food. It is insulting to those who one many occasions have risked their lives to suggest that is all they do.

I would also recomend you read Tested Metal By Scott Taylor and Brian Nolan. But skip the last chapter, it is just the authors' agenda and a peice of garbage. The rest of the book is a good account of actual evenst our soldiers have been through.

Soldier of Fortune,

I find the tone of your question insulting. I also think your name is a joke in fairly bad taste. Your earlier question about who see's more combat, JTF or the Infantry is also in bad taste.

Even without a war, there are all kinds of small skirmishes that could definatly be called combat. But if there is a major war, all of us who serve in the combat arms are going to have our fill of it.

Also, as Yard Ape says, do some research before you start asking questions that demostrate your ignorance. At the very least, read the other posts on this board.

1.He (as anyone) has the right to wear the nickname he wishes. It's called the Canadian Charter of Human Rights.

2.I'm sure he didn't mean to insult anyone. If he did, it's his right again. It's you duty to show your more mature by staying calm and not answering and escalating the stakes. In my opinion, lack of maturity is the number one reason why there are wars all around the world.

3.Keeping a cold temper will help you make clearer choices, choices wich won't be affected by any exterieur factors, thus making you a good leader.Remember that on your QL5, I think it should help you.

I was way to harsh. Especially given your age. Sorry Soldier of Fortune.

Mud Crawler,
you're totaly in the right for dressing me down there. I tend to be overly sarcastic in writing, in real life I don't generally lose my temper. (or if I do I have learned to cool it)
