I HAVE BEEN ON THIS SITE FOR A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME AND I AGRUE WITH EVERYTHING ON IT. I M ONLY A CADET ( A VERY YOUNG CADET) I M ONLY A TEEN BUT HAVE A STRONG KNOWLEGE ABOUT CANADAS ARMED FORCES AND ABOUT WAR. I KNOW IVE CANADA WAS INVOLVED IN A WAR WE WOULDENT HAVE THE PROPER EGUIPMENT AND WOULD HAVE TO GETSOPPRT FROM GREATER COUNTRYS SO I KNOW WE NEED MORE FORCES IN ALL DIVISIONS,NEWER VEHICLES ANDSHIPS AND MORE AIR UNITS.CANADAS ARMY IS SMALL BUT IT HAS A GOOD NAVY(HALIFAXS HAS ONE OF THE LARGEST NAVY BASA\ES IN THE WORLD)BUT CANADAS MAIN PROBLEM IS THE FACT AF HOW SMALL OUR POPULATION IS .

You guys may think that you know "LOTS" about Canada's military or perhaps the military's of the world, but you've got a lot to learn about how the world, and the military works. Hey I thought I knew a lot when I was in cadets too.

RCA Your last post reminds me of a billboard that I saw outside an armoury. It said "The Artillery is now hiring". I found that amusing because the militia is always hiring, I don't think there will ever be a time when we're not hiring. Even though I'm an infantryman, I know enough to respect the call of "Arty, Arty, Arty" or "bug out". So I have the outmost respect for the artillery. However Iwould like to give you a historical quote. General A.G.L. McNaughton, the Canadian Army commander in World War Two and an artillery officer by trade, once said while giving a lecture to the McGill contingent of the Canadian Officers Training Corps "Artillery cannot itself win battles. It is the resolute advance of the Infantry which is alone capable of producing this result.....the sole object of artillery employment is to render effective assistance to the Infantry."
