Had the chance to take in their first show of the year - a great group and a stellar performance by all who jumped!

xx Do you need permission to skydive?

May 08, 2012, 14:58:56 by dariel
I remember hearing from someone that you need to ask permission to go skydiving with a civilian organization. I disregarded the statement thinking I'd never go, but now it's looking like I may have the opportunity to try it after all.

A little bit about my situation: I'm an OCdt with basic training, no more, and I'm presently attending university to become a nurse under the ROTP program. I wanted to know if it is true that I need to ask permission and if so, would a simple email suffice or do I have to throw myself to the wolves by trying to pass a memo through the CoC in Ottawa? Thanks in advance for the info!

Cheers!

xx Chances of Deployment ?

March 30, 2012, 14:04:49 by JakeToynton
I am joining the military as a infantry soldier and I have always wanted to go to Afghanistan. As crazy as that sounds to some people its been my dream to go over there and fight for our country. But I know some people who are Canadian who have gone to the U.S.A military and fought in Afghanistan for the U.S.A instead of there home country. Which I think is wrong but hey its their life they can do what they want.

What my question is, is what are the chances of me being Deployed to Afghanistan to fight for our country in the Canadian Forces ? or would I have a better chance being deployed to Afghanistan in the U.S.A military ?

Armyca-Ico ACISS Trade

March 27, 2012, 01:39:32 by alucky
Hello! I have an interview coming up for this trade and while I have read up on it/watched the video, I was hoping to find someone who presently works in this field that I could get some feedback from - what your average day is like and how you feel about the job. This trade is entirely different from any career experience that I have previously had.

Any experiences you could share with me would be greatly appreciated. I just want to be as knowledgeable and prepared as I can.

Military Quote
It is by no means enough that an officer be capable...He should be a gentleman of liberal education, refined, manners, punctilious courtesy, and the nicest sense of personal honor... No meritorious act of a subordinate should escape his attention, even if the reward be only one word of approval. Conversely, he should not be blind to a single fault in any subordinate.

- John Paul Jones, 1775
