We often say that "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions".
Perhaps "your boss" wanted to make sure he could answer all the questions - not unreasonable, but maybe not the best motive?
Being able to answer every question would be difficult.
However, it would be even more difficult to be completely honest, and admit it when he didn't know an answer.
The test would then be to follow up, find the answer, and get back to the person with the question.
It would be even more impressive if he did it when nobody "was looking" (instead of "performing" for his boss, in turn).
It's not enough to just try to do the right thing;
It's not enough to just do the right thing;
It's important to do the right thing, for the right reasons.
Now, the challenge for you is to avoid making a similar mistake, when it's your turn ... (Good Luck, and watch out for those guys with the timber and the nails ...)
(okay, okay - enough philosophical B.S. from me - I've got a nursery to paint!)
Dileas.
