On my way into work this morning (before 0700), I was stopped by my friendly neighbourhood pickters right on the edge of DND land. Not being in the mood for this, I was polite (barely), and managed to get to a parking space and to work. The morning did not go as well for others - since when do picketers have the right to ask us for miltiary ID? Is that not the commissionaire's job? One guy was hauled off his bicycle for not showing his ID.

What torques me up is that they bother military personnel at all - we can't do anything to help their cause, so why bother us? Why not picket the MP's office? Put up pickets at the Parliament buildings in Ottawa instead of harrassing people on their way to work in the morning. The newspapers aren't going to be there, and if it's only for media coverage, wait until a newspaper or tv station shows up.

We're told to be sympathetic, but with our luck, the civies will get the raise, and we'll be told that the coffers are empty because the money went to them, and we'll never get a raise ourselves!

Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. It started my Friday off in a bad way. Anyone else get bothered by pickets today or this week?
