Let's assume there are approximately 60,000 soldiers/sailors/airmen in the Canadian Forces.
A ten dollar raise per year, per member would cost $600,000.
A thirty dollar raise per year, per member would cost $1,800,000.
Hmmm ... $1.75 million sure doesn't go far, does it?
A friend mentioned that one category of DND civilian employee is anticipating a retroactive pay raise of between six and eight percent (probably more than $60 dollars per year).
Hmmm ... I wonder how much of a raise the Members of Parliament will get, in comparison.
Sure am glad that money isn't my only motivator, eh?
