First I will not speak for Gen Cox, however having worked for him, I have a certain understanding of his point of view. As you are probably aware, he has changed duty and is now working at SHAPE in Belgium, and his focus is on other matters I am sure. Gen Cox did act on a number of matters brought forward by soldiers. Some were acted quickly as the matter was important, others went into the back of his mind to be dug up at the appropriate time - with good results. Some of the cases he had reviewed needed a name and circumstances so they could be investigated thereby causing the chain of command to react as it did - essentially dipleased that the matter had not been brought forward by the chain of command. Right or wrong is not the point ! But it did highlight that the chain of command was not always working as it should. Gen Cox's participation on this forum was mainly to correct highly inacurate and misleading information (minor errors where not debated). The purpose was to ensure that people making comments of this forum did so with the proper knowledge and understanding of the situation. He requested that soldiers bring their problem to light... not that soldiers rant and rave about the inadequacies of the CF as a whole. The moral of the story has always been to bring forward your concerns and to debate openly matters that are relevant and accurate.
