White stars were not "American" - all Allied troops in WW II and Korea used them for aerial recognition. American pilots have always been trigger happy.

It would not be hard to find an "appropriate vehicle" and it is not "my mind" - and it would certainly be a travesty to pull his remains with one of the pieces of junk the Army is saddled with today. I can just here those LSVW brakes sqealing on the CBC news. The Toronto Limber Gun's Association has a nice Quad and 25 pounder - the type of vehicle that has been used in several military funerals in the past decades. Far more appropriate than a US built truck - the Quads were built in Canada by Chev and Ford.
