In regards to the numbers and morale issue plaguing the CF, how do any of you feel about mandatory service?
Israel and Greece currently have mandatory service periods for at least two years for their young people starting between the ages of 17-19 years of age. Eventually those that have served would "trickle up" so to speak into the political arena. I agree whole heartedly with the issue of a lack of respect from the various politicos and the media. The only way to counteract that I believe would be to have a reformed high school curriculum (history programs that would have successful campaigns mentioned rather than have half the high school history teachers poke fun at Dieppe) as well as a more proactive recruiting and retention program for the CF.
