From what I understand, it is not a project to replace the Iltis and MLVW. Iltis replacement is the LUVW project and I have no idea as to whether there is an MLVW replacement project ongoing.
The ACV project was designed to provide a replacement for the Leopard and Cougar, and has a 2010 implementation date. However from what I understand the project has been limited in scope so as to only provide a Cougar replacement. From what I've read in various trade journals (Canadian Defence Quarterly and Military Technology) some vehicles being looked at are the Italian Centauro Tank Destroyer and a 10x10 version of the LAV equipped with a 105mm.
If anybody has any more information on this project I would greatly appreciate it!
