Generally, I have been told that I can do ql2 training, starting in the fall, every other weekend and on parade nights. Should I contact the regiment I want to join immediately, or should I wait until the end of the summer (so I am not confused with people who will be doing their basic this summer)?

I am especially interested in joining the Queens own Rifles. Is there anyone out there who wants to share some of their experiences with this regiment? I'd like to hear of experiences related to the initial recruitment and training...pretty much what I will be going through in the not too distant future.
