I've been following this little debate thru various means for several monthes now . I can assure you that our friends to the south are not scrapping all their heavy units ,not even close .
What thaey're doing is expanding their options.Mind you at first there was a fair number of news stories about disgruntled tankers and the end of the need for heavy armour.
This is not the first time the americans have tried thier hands at large scale expermentation In the 60's it was the 11th air assaullt(expermetntal) later the 1st Air Cavalry. In the the 70's it was the 9th Lt.Infantry(High Technolgy Test Bed Division)
