I have been following the Clothe the Soldier project fairly closely, and have spoken with Captain Percy, the Director of the program about the new load bearing vest.

He sent me a letter stating that the vest will have 4 mag. pouches on the upper front chest...two to each side...on the outer side of the left and right-most pouches will be a pouch for an M-67 fragmentation grenade.

The bottom front of the vest will contain 2 utility pockets...similar in size to the bottom 2 pockets on the combat shirt...It's my guess that M-203 grenade rounds will be stored in those.

It seems kind of like a half-hearted approach to load bearing...

A better system would be a Canadian Version of the new US MOLLE system, which is completely modular in design, allowing the system to be tailored to an individuals specific role and mission...

Specialty Defense out of Dunmore Pennsylvania manufactures the system for the US military, and they maintain the MOLLE Care and Use Manual online...it's worth a look for comparison's sake to the new Canadian kit...
