Probably the most overlooked aspect of the Canadian army's history is its participation in the Second Anglo-Boer War, (aka: the South African War, Boer War, Transvaal War of Independance, etc, etc), of 1899-1902. Information on this savage little clash-of-arms is scanty enough, and anything regarding the participation of the Canadians is rare indeed. It seems amazing, considering the participation of such well-known regiments as the RCR, RCD, and LDSH, among others.
I'll get to the point. If anyone who frequents this forum has any information on the following engagements, please contact me via email. I'm trying to compile a fairly detailed history of the Canadian involvement in this all-too forgotten war, but I cannot do it alone. Here are the engagements in question:
Leliefontein
Israel's Poort
Sunnyside Kopje
Doornkop
Kalkheuwel Pass
Many thanks,
WR Harris
