University and joining the army. Help!

I'm currently in my first year of university and I've finally decided that the army might be for me. I'm wondering if it's possible to continue going to school while in the army? I have no idea how this works. I WANT my degree but I also feel that military life is what I want. Do I just take a year off to train? Someone please explain this to me.

Also, I'm a female and I'm wondering... How physically challanging is it? I mean, do I get into shape big time before joining or does that happen there?

Any other pieces of advice would be greatly appreciated.
