Many of my instrs went from Cornwallis to St-J
and had good sense and excellent experience to
pass on. They lost the edge quickly in their new
environ an dtold me so. Their hands were tide by a
weak establishment and fearful leaders. Those of us
in comd roles were shunned away because we were a
threat to the little secrets which long differentiated the
two recruit schools' products. C'est la vie. We have
to live with, train with and heaven forbid die along
side young people without the basic soldier skills
which can only be instilled in impressionable minds.
Oh how things changed. I sound like an old man, but I
yearn for my days as both an offr cadet and coy comd
in a real trg estb.
