A friend of mine bought a US Army surplus Humvee (they are NOT called Hummers) and tried to bring it to Canada. First of all, the ring mount for the .50 calibre MG was declared a "machine gun part" and that stopped him from bringing it across the border. If you can afford a Humvee, you can afford a lawyer, so he wrangled with the folks in Washington DC. Then they tell him the law requires a vehicle to be 15 years old before it can be brought to Canada as surplus. So the Humvee is now sitting on the Montana border, waiting for the 15 years to expire come October.
