You can apply for more than one trade with the recruiters.
If it's your dream to be a Sapper, follow it. After five years
out of the Army they won't usually give you credit for courses
taken when you were in before. Engineers learn a lot of
employable things in their trade. Besides, people transfer
from cbt arms to other trades all the time when their knees
and back get old. You've got some years left yet. Keep in
mind that Engineers are VERY sought-after right now for de-mining ops, you could be
away from home often.
