Thanks for all the help. I checked the web-site, and the medal sure looks like the one that you described. My problem now is this: I asked my mother, and then talked to my grandmother about the decoration, and they both think that it's something else. You see, my great-grandfather (whose name is on the medal) wasn't killed during the war, as my grandfather, who was born some time after the war, can attest to. Is there some other way that he could have gotten that medal?? Or, is it possible that this decoration looks a lot like another one?? No one here seems to know what it's for.
