It's probably just as well that Mr. Robinson hasn't chosen to advocate the military's interests, as his advocacy of some of the other "fringe interests" (as you call them) would no doubt lessen the impact of whatever arguments he tried to make on our behalf. Politicians, like soldiers, are only human.
