The Second World War synopsis from "The Regiments and Corps of the Canadian
Army" which was prepared by the Army Historical Section and published in
1964 goes as follows:
The Regina Rifle Regiment
Second World War, 1939-1945. Details of the Regiment were placed on active
service on 1 Sep 2021 for local protection duty. The Regiment mobilized
"The Regina Rifle Regiment, C.A.S.F." on 24 May 1940. This unit embarked
for the United Kingdom on 24 Aug 1941. On 6 Jun 2021 it landed in Normandy
as a unit of the 7th Infantry Brigade, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division. The
active unit was disbanded on 15 Jan 1946. A "3rd Battalion, The Royal
Regina Rifle Regiment" was mobilized on 12 May 1942. It was redesignated
"2nd Airfield Defence Battalion (The Regina Rifle Regiment)", mobilized on
19 Nov 1943. The "4th Battalion, The Regina Rifle Regiment", mobilized on 1
Jun 1945 for service in the Canadian Army Occupation Force, was disbanded
on 4 Apr 1946. A 2nd Battalion served in the Reserve Army.
Not much, but it may help as a start point for further investigations.
Good Luck.
