The Canadian Army Mailing List is a free service designed to allow people with a common interest to communicate. The list can be used to any topics related to the Canadian Army, including:
I suggest all new members send a message to the list describing their connection to the military, and a list of interests. This will introduce you to the other members of the list, and confirm that your subscription request was processed properly. Don't be afraid to speak up, that's what it's for!
For a good laugh and a lesson in proper conduct, take a look at Mike O'Leary's very applicable Rules for The Canadian Army Mailing List.

Option 2: Send a message to [email protected] with "subscribe army-list" in the message body (no quotes).
You should receive a verification message shortly after sending your message. Once you confirm your intent to subscribe, you will start to receive list traffic. (Instructions on how to confirm your subscription are in the e-mail.)

Option 2: Follow the instructions below to send a message to the list.
To send a message to the list, you must send it to the following address:
You will get a copy of your own messages if they are posted to the list successfully, so you will know if you have the address right or not.
When you first subscribe to the list, each message that is sent to the list is delivered to you individually. Some subscribers may not wish to receive this many messages a day (between 10-30).
When you change your subscription to DIGEST mode, you will receive a compilation of the day's messages in one or two large messages with an index of subjects at the top. The list is currently set to mail a digest when it has collected 400 lines of text to be compiled. This typically occurs about 2 times a day. So instead of 10-30 messages per day, you'll only receive one or two.
Option 1: Simply update your preferences.
Option 2: Once you are succesfully subscribed to the list, you can change your subscription to DIGEST mode by sending a message to:

Please note that any message you send to the list will be added to the online archive, so do not post anything you don't want preserved for posterity!
The Canadian Army Mailing List is very simple in it's design, and is by no means flawless.
If you are having problems with the list, or the list does not seem to be responding, please send e-mail to [email protected] and I will respond as quickly as I can.
